24 hours in Munich

It was late November 2018 when I flew out to Munich to meet David for the weekend. Having been there for a work meeting we grabbed the opportunity to explore the wonderful city in all its Christmassy glory!

We stayed in the bustling Maxvorstadt district and would definitely recommend the area for its museams, student pubs, restaurants, indie shops and green spaces. Known as the arts and university district it’s also a perfect place for vegans to hang out!

On the first day we headed towards Marienplatz and all the Christmas markets where you’ll find a plethora of shops, beautiful stalls selling your traditional Christmas goods and plenty of Gluewein to keep you warm. We also visited the Munich Residence Museum which was absolutely stunning and would really recommend spending a couple of hours there.

Now for the good stuff - food!! Munich has a very surprising number of amazing vegan/vegetarian food places and I’ll try to remember as many as possible:

Hans Im Gluck - Burger Grill Bar

You can find these absolutely STUNNING burger joints all over Germany and with 6 different vegan burgers to chose from its burger heaven!!

You can find the menu here

Gratitude Eatery Munich - vegan restaurant

Organic - vegan - purely plant based - gluten-free - no flavour enhancements - no additives

Offering some dishes as raw food, the Gratitude is a small restaurant with a big heart creating delicious dishes for all culinary explorers.

They offer a 3 course meal (min 2 people) for €32 pp or with wine for €45 pp

Siggis - vegan and fresh food

Delightful vegan restaurant offering breakfast, sandwiches, soup, finger food, starters, salads and main dishes. We went for breakfast and it definitely hit the spot

You can check out the website and menu here

Pommes Boutique - Banging falafel and fries with a champion selection of sauces

That’s pretty much all I can offer as we really weren’t there for all that long but I will leave you with this... promise me you’ll try a Weissbier with cola?! It is AMAZING!!
